Nowhere else in the Alps are there so many peaks over 3,000 metres within such a small area. With a total of 86 ‘Fernern’ – as glaciers are known in Tyrol and Vorarlberg – the Ötztal Alps also boast the largest glacier coverage in the Eastern Alps.
