The customisation process
Custom-made ski boots offer optimum comfort and top performance on the slopes. By being precisely tailored to the individual shape of the foot, they prevent pressure points and pain, which are often caused by ill-fitting standard boots. Custom-made ski boots also guarantee better power transfer, which enhances control and safety whilst skiing.
Fitting appointment – analysis, model selection and footbed
During the fitting appointment, we begin by taking precise measurements of your feet and analysing them. We use state-of-the-art measurement technology and a digital scanner to record the shape, volume and pressure zones, enabling us to create a detailed profile of your foot. Based on this, we work with you to select the right ski boot shell and the ideal insole – tailored to your skiing style, the shape of your foot and your ability.
Following the measurement and analysis, we begin working on the ski boot shell. During this time, your bespoke wooden last – tailored precisely to the shape of your foot – is crafted in our boot workshop. Using this last, the shell is precisely adapted to the needs of your foot. At the same time, the appropriate inner boot is assembled using the components you have chosen. In this way, we lay the foundations during the fitting appointment for a ski boot that fits perfectly, offers the highest level of comfort and enables maximum performance on the slopes.
Foaming of the inner boot
During the foaming session, your inner boot is perfectly moulded to your feet using the foaming process. First, sensitive areas of your foot are covered with specially cut pads to prevent pressure points later on. A toe cap is placed over your toes as a spacer before the foaming process begins.
The foaming takes place whilst standing and lasts around 15 minutes. After a further 10 minutes’ curing time, the ski boot can be removed. Over the next 12 hours, the boot cures completely at room temperature and is then ready for use.
The result is a bespoke inner boot that moulds precisely to the shape of your foot, offers maximum comfort, ensures optimum support and enables precise control on the slopes.
Zipfit inner shoes
As an alternative to the foam-lined inner boot, a ZipFit liner can also be customised. Customised ZipFit liners are specially designed to provide the same high level of comfort and a perfect fit.
First, the liner is heated so that the dimensionally stable cork material moulds perfectly to your foot. The liner is then placed into the shell together with your foot, so that the instep, ankle and calf areas are precisely moulded. If necessary, additional cork is inserted for even better support.
The result is a durable, bespoke liner that offers a perfect fit, secure support and maximum control on the slopes.
