Anyone who thinks that the Ötztal Alps are only the realm of ice buffs and well- trained alpine tours, would be very wrong indeed. There are wonderful hiking opportunities around Sölden and some 1300 kilometres of signposted hiking trails. Lush alpine terraces to forested valley flanks, lovely wetlands along the cheery Ötztaler Ache, wild rock slide landscapes with their unique flora, and above all else, the romantic lateral valleys, which extend right into the high mountains - a paradise for mountain hikers!
